Here, dear friends, are my books, as promised! Not quite perfect, because I did not tell Roberto one or two things that needed sorting, but even Richie - stern critic as he can be - said they were 'great!', and, next time, I'll know better.
It'll be ages before Egypt is ready. All that html to convert, and bits to re-arrange. But I'm sure it'll be worth it. I hope so, anyway.
Two more pics inside, and me waffling on about ways I write - again. Do feel free to skip! :D
I hope you think they are as nice as I do!
I was thinking, last night, of the other way I manage my writings, which, oddly enough, is the same way as
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
I was bothered for days after it, because I had ordered a man put to death for laughing at me. I put it in my story. Knefer-Lijedefer, of course, had no qualms about doing so.
That story, and Inca, were revealed to me in glorious Technicolor details. Not all of them are, of course, but the epic ones seem to be, and take on a life beyond my managing. But it doesn't mean I don't sometimes change small bits from what I see. My prerogative!
My wonderful beta, LSR, tells me she can always divine when I have dreamt a particular part, because I tend to put in every detail. I have tried not to do it, but it doesn't work - not with parts I have dreamt. So I have to leave it to her to take out the "walking over to the chair, moving it two inches to the left, sitting down, and re-arranging his skirt". Sigh. Lij in a white pleated kilt, with his hair hanging nearly down to his knees, is something to see, I tells ya! (No shaved heards or fleas, in my AR Egypt.)
Anyway, off for my mid-morning snooze, and to read for a little while. Bye for now!

Date: 2009-01-24 11:47 am (UTC)I think it's fascinating how you, and LSR, dream some of your stories. Wish my dreams were that exciting! This morning I dreamed I was helping a songwriter with his lyrics, but who he was I have no idea. No one famous that I could recognise, anyway. Helping Elijah reorganise his CD collection would have been much more interesting! ;0)
Your vision of Lij in his kilt with all that glorious hair is something I long to see for myself... *sigh* Hope you have a good snooze and maybe a delightful dream!

Date: 2009-01-25 11:26 am (UTC)Btw, one of our three gerbils, little Rosie, the brown one with white markings, suddenly became ill and died this morning. Chris noticed when he first got up and after his shower went to pick her up, but she was gasping for breath and just died. Gerbils go downhill so quickly.

Date: 2009-01-25 05:24 pm (UTC)But the thickness of the books is nice this way. And looking at the lovely binding and the heavy paper, wouldn't it be wonderful to have your fantastic "illuminations" on the facing pages!! (like in "The Aetheling.")

Date: 2009-01-25 02:15 pm (UTC)I wish I could write like you - let alone dream my stories! I usually need a rough outline for part of the story at least. The way it starts for me is usually with a single scene/idea that pops into my head, and from there I build, though often I need a little help with bridging some gaps. Of course lately all I was able to do, if that, was very small stories. There's that idea I've had back in 2004 which I keep having ideas for (and has turned into a trilogy, even), but to actually write it is so difficult... at best I get a short scene or part of a longer scene done. Will have to try and force myself to sit down on it regularly, even if only once a week, maybe that will eventually help me get back into the flow.
