Hello! I thought you might like to see some pics of the Gower which is in my home town of Swansea, and one of nearby Brecon. We really do have some beautiful scenery - no-one would guess it from the town itself!

I can see myself sitting in either bay, just staring out over the water for hours on end. Or leaning up against a tree at Oystermouth (interesting name) Castle reading a good book.

There are over a dozen bays just like thar. Pity I never get to see them, these days, having no car. Still, I can dream. And I have my own Rivendell within half an hour! :D xxx

I went on a school trip there when I was a kid. I had a wonderful time, even if it did rain every day and I came home with prune-like feet!

It truly is a glorious party of the world, none better at times, now if you could just do something about the rain!!

Rain is the bug, yes. Swansea bay used to be known as the Naplea of the North. Indeed, LSR said even now, it's better that the Italian version. :D xxx

Once we've finished school for the summer we're planning to come to Swansea, DV, so it'll be lovely to be able to see some of these places. We've talked about it often enough but the weather hasn't always been kind or other reasons have prevented it, unfortunately. This time... *fingers crossed*

Those are stunning shots Issy. I remember Three Cliffs Bay and Rhosilli Bay from a visit during a college field study back in 1970. And the Brecon Beacons could have been used for the lighting of the beacons in LOTR couldn't they?

I love Rhosilli because I have fond memories of it. It is a beautiful place - but, then, all of Goqer is beautiful! And the Beacons are very mean, moody and Magnificent, only rather smaller than the NZ versions! :D xxx
