Inca and Regency
Jan. 21st, 2009 10:24 amI'm very incited! Yesterday I took down to the printers just along the road from me, two of my stories on a pen-drive - Inca One and Two and A Regency Tale, just for starters.
Roberto downed them onto his puter, and two hours later rang to say he'd printed them. WoW! Service, eh? Today I go to see Fabio to discuss the colour for the bindings. So Inca is red, and Regency is blue. Sigh.
I know its not very exciting in the cosmic scheme of things, but I am happy about having my stories in a readable - for me, I mean - format, as my cataracts are "ripening" at an extraordinary rate, and I have to hold things under my nose to see 'em; it's great. Wibble!!!
I am also getting the Egypt saga done - all of them - which will take ages for me to convert, and check through - but next I intend sorting some of the shorter stories, like Untamed, and The Onion Man, to go into one volume. It'll be fun choosing - in between writing, of course. Must, must do that.
I cannot go without saying this - thank you to all the dear friends - you know who you are - who have been so supportive of me, lately, and commented, or emailed, or phoned me. And for those whom I do not know as friends, but were kind, anyway - hugs
fienchen and
msilverstar just two of them chosen at random. It meant a lot.
Kindness is a light in dark places, when all other lights go out.

Date: 2009-01-21 07:53 pm (UTC)As for champagne, it's not my favorite. If I'm going to drink it, like New Year's Eve, I'd rather have it mixed with orange juice (a Mimosa). Champagne's biggest appeal is the bubbles. Those can be some mighty expensive bubbles, so it's not worth it to me. I still prefer coffee! :D

Date: 2009-01-21 01:32 pm (UTC)I'm so sorry about all the trouble that was dear Issi. I didn't see/read it until much later and not sure I know for sure what happened. (((you))) I hope it is all over now.

Date: 2009-01-21 05:14 pm (UTC)As I get far-sighted, I've started to increase the size of the fonts on my computer. On browsers, pressing control-plus on Windows and command-plus on Macs increases the text size, and I do it often. Some sites get ugly, but others are finally readable.

Date: 2009-01-21 05:50 pm (UTC)I'm short-sighted, what you call near-sighted, I think, and between the diabetes, lasering and cataracts, it's damn inconvenient. I have my computer set on 16 font, and I write everything in that, but on some pages on the net, you can't find the box to tick "order" when you want to buy something, because it's maxed out by the huge text. Infuriating - but better than not seeing it at all. :D xxx

Date: 2009-01-22 04:18 am (UTC)The books are very expensive to get printed. Inca (2 volumes) and Regency comes to £130. Sigh. I expect Egypt might be as dear as that, as I can see it squeezing into less than 3 volumes. I'll see when I get it done and let you know. I love that series, too. In fact, although Inca is my favourite, Egypt comes a close second. Wibble.
You are a very dear person, too. Hugses. :D xxxx

Date: 2009-01-22 04:32 am (UTC)I AM READING IT! I commented. But there was this interruption of kids and my husband ticked me off. :( YOU KNOW I loved this HOT chapter. It was wonderful. ok...goes back to comment (again?).

Date: 2009-01-22 04:38 am (UTC)I'll let you know about Egypt. It'll take me ages to check them and change the html and stuff, because I can only type one letter at a time with either one finger, or a pencil. Long job, and there's a lot of it. Far more than Inca!
btw, I'd put up my stories if no-one was reading them. I just like doing them, I do. Grins. xxx
