Cold Upon the Mountain

It is cold upon the mountain of my need -
My need for him. It is cold, indeed.
But I am not cold, for something warms me from within,
an incandescent blaze, that lights up all
it touches. All it sees.
It is circumscribed within one hour,
within one perfect day,
and filled with tender speech,
and warm caresses.
It glows, like flame,
and reaches far within, to warm, and to sustain.
Why should I wish to be warmed by it?
Why should I not take the lesser path
and leave my heart to beat in peace and
in untouched, unmoved solemnity?
Am I a moth reaching for a secret flame?
No.
Because He is, I am.
And where He is,
the sun shines warmer,
the earth smells cleaner,
the flowers scent is sweeter.
Because He is,
the days are filled with joy.
Because He is - I am.
Elijah.

That's a lovely poem and quite apt. But what I'm astounded by (I know, I shouldn't be...) is the OBVIOUS love and tenderness in Elijah's expression, all directed toward Mr. Monaghan. Whatever happens in the future (and whatever is [quite inexplicably, in my opinion] happening in the present, I will always feel that Dom was Elijah's 'epiphany' and first true love/crush. Maybe someday they'll reconnect...(loud sigh).

That is so true.. His light touches my very soul, and makes me whole somehow.

I remember still how i felt when i realised what he meant to me.. the whole world looked different somehow.. brighter, lighter, a much better place because he's in it..
