I have Shelob in my loft! Yay! It's all go here!

Richie went up into the loft to get a new electric blanket I hadn't even taken out of the box. He shouted down that there was a HUGE spider's web up there. I asked how big. He said it reached from the roof to the floor and was half as wide as my living room. So that's about 15 feet by 8 feet. I would LOVE to see the crittur that made that, me dears! :D NOT a money spider, then!

So we brought down the blanket (which was not suitable for what I wanted it) and a bag of papers that I said I'd sort out for re-cycling. Imagine me joy - and my RL friends, here, will know how much I have banged on about this over the couple of years it has been missing - when a photo album I had been looking for for ages, turned up in the bag.

I will not mention that the bag of stuff was put up there years before the album went missing. Those in the know understand what this house is like. It is like a time tunnel. Things go missing and turn up in very odd places, and we have a few of those orange conduit things - goodness knows what they are - two in the garden, one in the house. You are sceptical? Do not be - we have both seen 'em. But this house is a lovely, friendly, calming place where visitors ignore the dust and clutter, (I hope) and enjoy the feeling!

And last, but very very not least! One of my flist has ordered Inca and Egypt from Roberto and Fabio! I am as pleased as if I was making money out of it, myself! Which, of course, I'm not! Just the thought that someone cares enough about my scribblings to put out serious money for the books, is a thrill. Thank you, cutie, for making my day! I will not out her - she can do that herself, if she wishes, or keep it secret, keep it safe. Wheeeee! Is a happy, happy bunny.

So that's what happened today, apart from visiting boring hospital. On the whole, an excellent day. Hugses.

Goodness.. the size of that spider doesn't bear thinking about.. or there's a whole army up there.

I find that things turn up when i least expect them to. That's the trouble with being happily disorganised i guess..

I bet you're thrilled to bits with the order for your book.. wheeee!! Glad you had a good day!

Orange conduit things??

They're odd - just like a bright orange string going up to the sky and into the earth. Don't ask me - I only live here! :D xxx

Do not like the sound of that spider! It didn't even occur to me that other people could order your book. How lovely! I believe in the orange conduit thing even if I'm completely oblivious to it. Or maybe it was ignoring me, which is quite possible too. ;) XXOO

Liz sat under one of the conduit access points - she could feel it. I think you either notice these things, or you don't. Haven't seen one for ages - perhaps they're resting! See ya later. SQUEEEEEEE! xxx

Awww, prolly you ought to send Samwise with Galadriel's lightbulb there!

And, wonderful thought, do you reckon you'd find Frodo up there?
Peel him out of the web and then take him downstairs for loads of restoring cups of cocoa...
and then listen to al of his wonderful yarns!

Am happy for you excellent day, m'dear!

*hugles*

Giggles. The access point to the loft is tiny - only wide enough for a slim chap or a hobbit! Who knows? Fro might indeed be up there! :D xxx

Here. You'll need this. I got mine for Christmas. Course, it may be too small.

Hah! I have a great spider-catcher - it's called Richard. ;D And if you could see the web you'd know that wouldn't be big enough. Giggles. ;D xxx

I hear you have [livejournal.com profile] tweedle_ coming to visit you. I hope the web is still there for showing, and that the two of you get up to all kinds of mischief. :D

Aside from the hospital visit, it sounds as though you had an excellent day!

I do wonder at the Shelob that must have made that web, though. Perhaps she's long gone and just left her architectural and engineering marvel for you to remember her by.

Also, I think you must have a Tardis in your house. Maybe your house is a Tardis! Say hello to The Doctor for me. :D

As long as he looks like David Tennant, I will! ;D

I have a feeling it's an empty thing. Because we have those plug-ins that deter spiders, mice and creepy things, I think they retreated to the furthest point, but couln't stand the sounds. Hey ho! I'd be happier if it was unused! :D xxx

I believe it! I've seen what happens in your house...who knows what else is hiding in different places (preferably not the creepy stuff *shudders*)

Since I'm hoping to visit shortly, I'm thinking the web has not been made by ONE BIG TERRIFYING INSECT THING but lots of little spidery creatures small enough to step on over the years and are now all, please god, well dead. *breathes*

Indulge my fantasy please even if there's a five foot wide spider corpse in your loft... :)

and Richard is a BRAVE man...

There are no spiders up there - big or small - he looked! I think they all went up there to escape the plug-ins and did a runner. Let's hope so, anyway!

Rich doesn't mind spiders. I don't either, as long as they stay away from ME! :D xxx

I think you probably know that I like spiders but even I would balk at meeting the owner of your web!

Strange how things turn up where you least expect them to and how things get moved around when you are certain you never touched them!!!!

Considering the bag of papers was put up there in 2002, after I finished my OU course (that's what the papers were) and I had the album after C4, I wonder how it got up there! Odd! :D xxx

In my years of being a cleaner, the largest spider I saw was the size of a dinner plate, though it had come from a fairly small hole.Normally I'd put a glass jar over the insect, slide some cardboard over the top,and put it outside. This one needed a glass casserole and a large calendar, but he was banished to the garden.
Hope your hospital visit was merely routine.

I'm absolutely delighted that your much-missed photo album had turned up at last!!! Now I wonder how it got into that bag of papers...?! Just *who* put it there? :-)

Good grief, that spider must be enormous! 0_0 Daughter of Shelob, indeed! Glad that Rich didn't encounter the Beast, only her web, he may not have survived without a Sam to rescue him!

How lovely that a friend has decided to order copies of your books for herself. If I could afford to I would too... *sigh*

Glad you had an "excellent day" despite the boring hospital :-)

Hugses back
XOXOXOX

I don't mind spiders as long as they ain't crawling anywhere near me! The farther away the better, I say. I wouldn't hurt her, them, unless I had to. Bless! xxx
