Shopping With Richie

I LOVE this pic! Richie was snapping something to put on eBay, and this is what he got instead. Our house is like that, yup. :D Clickie on for da biggah!!





He wanted shoes, I wanted shoes.

Went to the book shop, Borders, for coffee in Starbuck's. I had an Innocent mango smoothie, crammed with not-so-innocent calories, and a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich out of which I had to take the salmon, cos it was chewy, and I had forgotten to put in my teeth (again). Bought two books. Yes, I know, guys. But I TRULY NEEDED them. Yes, I did.

Ist shop. M&S. HE looked at ???? pairs of shoes.
Tried on 17 (Yes, I know my son, so I counted.)
Bought none.

I looked at 2
Tried on 2, neither would fit.
Bought none,

Catch #22 - to go to buy shoes, without dashing to the loo every twenty minutes, I can't take my water pill. If I do not take my water pill, I swell up. If I swell up, I can't get shoes on my feet. Recognise this, anyone?

2nd shop. Didn't go in cos he said there was only girl's stuff in there. Boy's stuff was on the first floor. (Second floor for any US citizens reading). I could see it from the door, even with MY eyes. On to the next.

3rd shop: There was a sale.
He Looked at ????
Tried on 9
Bought ONE! .....Success!

Me. Looked at 2. Tried on one. Could only get my toe in. Gave up.

Went to Tesco's. I HATE Tesco's, but we needed dinner.
Gave Rich the list whilst I sat in my wheelchair, and watched small children pick the heads off the bunches of flowers. Sales assistant came round and reduced all the bunches with gaps. Talked to a man about green beans.

Went home in taxi, and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

So much excitement has rendered me useless. How can I bear it, you ask? Living life in the Fast Lane as I do must be exhausting, you cry. Yes, I cry, too. Giggle.

Gave up on shoes and settled for slippers instead. ;D

I know you have a lot of problems yet you are always so cheerful and upbeat about it all. I have to admit that when I read any of your posts, I feel suddenly very humble! You are such an inspiration.

Good luck with the slippers and get me a pair while you are it because mine are falling to bits!!!!

The thing is, it must be nice to go shopping with your son. He is such a treasure, even if he *does* need to try on 2 dozen shoes to select one pair!

I have lived this before! I hate...HATE...to go shoe shopping and will only try on a few with maybe one purchase, usually none. Whereas my hubby will try on dozens and buy at least three. And they say only women have the Shopping Gene. ;)

I go barefoot, or in slippers all the time, now I am retired! I have a pair of Nikes for out and about and my old pair of comfortable black work shoes for church, etc. I refuse to play the shoe game!

Oh! I do have a pair of snow boots - snow respects no one!

I am trying to get the picture. I didn't darn it. YOU didn't eat the Salmon? Its not hard to chew even gumming. I would. I love Salmon (I am suffering thinkig you didn't eat it obviously).
*snorts* you got your big toe in a shoe. This whole account is just the cutest thing. Your boy and his OBVIOUS shoe fetishism.. You trying to keep up because shoes are fun. I go for the flip flops anyday. Old Navy makes the best flip flops ever and cheap too.
I read of things that show you have such a frail and precious body...but oh that mind is freakin incredible. It gets you juiced up to keep moving and ticking and tocking continuously. Hugs you Ru. The salmon was smoked and cut thickly and my gums could not cope. Never mind, the cream cheese was delish!

Wish I could wear flip-flops. I go all googly eyed when I see Lij's beautiful feet in them. Sigh. :D xxx
