You'll laugh, but when I wrote my first comment, I thought: what about Lij's dragon, cold mother, whose wasteful ways he wants to prevent from now on. It must have reach her ears. What if she hired someone to get rid of him or just incapacitate him. Poor, poor, unloved child-duke! Yes, I sincerly thought that. And I enjoy the playful aspect of finding a culprit AND a motive. Can't wait to read what really happened.
